Kava, the South Pacific’s gift to the rest of the world
For many centuries Kava has been the traditional drink throughout the South Pacific served in ceremonies, evening gatherings, and other social occasions. Kava is known for its ability to relax the body and the mind. Once the kava plant is harvested it is dried, pulverized, and ground into a fine powder. This is immersed in cool water and squeezed to produce the traditional kava drink.
As many South Pacific Islanders settled into communities in Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, and the rest of the United States, the kava drink went with them. Visitors to the Pacific as well as many others curious about special qualities of kava have also increased. The result has been an increasing demand for kava products
Since the 19th century, scientists have been studying the beneficial effects of kava and as a result, a number of products have been developed including a mild anti-depressant. In addition, kava has been classified as a medicinal herb and products containing kava have been developed to be sold in the herbal marketplace. Both the pharmaceutical and the natural herb markets require that the active ingredients in kava, called lactones, be extracted before being processed into their final pill, syrup, or herbal mixture.
Demand for kava products has been growing steadily in the developed countries over the past ten years with more products being offered each year. The worldwide market for kava products today is estimated at $200 million.
Much of the kava sold outside of the Pacific Islands is still the traditional kava powder which appeals to the ethnic kava drinker, however an increasing range of other kava products have been successfully introduced to the market which use kava lactones instead of the powder.

NEOKAVA™ is packaged for retail sale in boxes of eight sachets with a suggested retail price of $15.95 per box and is shipped in master cartons of 32 retail boxes.

Ingredients include 100mg kava lactones in each sachet, milk solids, premix, and flavourings. All natural ingredients from Mother Nature, including organically grown kava. No artificial colours, flavouring or preservatives have been used.
NEOKAVA™ is formulated and packaged in New Zealand. Kavalactones are shipped from an extraction plant in Tonga.
