It is well known that kava from the Kingdom of Tonga has some of the highest lactone levels in the South Pacific Region. Morpheus Pharmaceuticals Ltd. is committed to selecting only the best cultivars mature enough to be processed, and which have been cultivated under GAP (Good Agriculture Process) guidelines. |
The kava cultivar used in producing Kava Kane Tea has its origin in 4 to 5 year old kava plants grown in Tonga. No chemical fetilizers, pesticides, herbicides, or insecticides were used during cultivation. Processing includes cleaning and chopping, sun drying and milling, extraction of the kava resins, fusing the extract with raw cane sugar, and packaging. The manufacturing process is GMP (Good Manufacturing Processes) compliant. |
An HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) evaluation of the processing method applied by Morpheus Pharmaceuticals Ltd. has been found to be satisfactory in all categories by the Ministry of Fisheries of the Kingdom of Tonga and endorsed by Mr. Antimoni Petelo, Msc. N.S.W., Australia, the Fisheries officer charged with the responsibility of inspecting and granting warrant of fitness licenses to manufacturing facilities in Tonga. |
Morpheus Pharmaceuticals Ltd. HACCP monitoring and control systems will ensure a constant quality of kavalactones with every batch, namely: Kavain, 7-8-Dihydrokavain, Yangonin, Methysticin, Dihydromethysticin. The testing methodology used is Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and Infrared Spectroscopy. |
Producing at source cuts the time between harvest and extraction. Shipping of raw materials for long sea journeys giving exposure to extreme temperature variations and salt air can invite corruption of the sensitive organic matter, whereby bacteria, fungi, moulds and other alien micro-organisms may ultimately cause a decomposition of the Kavalactones. |
